Hi Sleevers.

It's so nice to be back here. Thanks guys for re-starting the forum.

A bit about me, I'm a 28year old student who was sleeved early in 2015. Since my sleeve I lost an incredible 67kg and found a person in there who I only ever dreamed if being... she's confident and kind and sexy and a little bitchy at times (only when necessary!!). The shy, self conscious fat chick has gone for good. I make friends more easily now, say yes more easily now and live my life instead of hiding in the dark. I even go on dates!

I would love to hear from others. I'm so grateful to what this forum used to be, I hope I can help other sleevers on their sleeve journey the way I was helped through mine on this forum..

welcome back!

I really hope we get some new sleeves as well. I don't know what I would have done without this forum. I was lost without it.

Your story is so inspiring. I miss dating! (haha - married 12 years now!)

Hi @Denzel!

I remember you! I was also in the Feb 2015 sleevers group but I used a different name over there and I only posted 2-3 times. Even via text on a screen I was so scared to make myself seen! Now I'm happy and proud to be me and I live life to the fullest!!

But this forum was incredible for me. I sat and I watched conversations. I learned so so so much. I'm studying to be a dietician now. Who would have ever guessed that!!??

I'm so glad you're here. I hope that we get some more people from the old forums.. what about Ginger Chicken, AussieAiries, GreenFrog, Fat2Fit.... There are others who I can't remember. There was one lady who was sleeved years and years before me - (us!!) who updated her diary with her weight every single week without fail. She was SUCH an inspiration to me. I wish I could remember her name. She always answered questions for people and her diary was always near the top. I hope she comes to join us.

Well - it's so great you're here. Even though we didn't know each other really (because I was too shy) I feel like an old friend has returned to me!

Much love!

Poo, just lost my reply!

Thank you @Miss_Behavin' for you kind and lovely words!  Yes it's like old friends reunited!  I, too, wonder what have happened to folk such as the ones you mentioned, Bumbles and Shrinking Violet and ? Garfield who had had complications.
Great to hear that you found the other site interesting, informative and supportive - which it was ๐Ÿ˜‰ .
You have achieved remarkable outcomes, congratulations and very well done!
You would make a fantastic bariatric dietitian in the future, having gone through the experience yourself.

All the best!

Hi @Denzel

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. I feel like some dieticians see us as something we're not (fatsos too lazy or stupid to follow a diet and do some exercise... taking the "easy way" out) and I hope to bring some personal service and understanding to the roll. I believe I can do that.

Thanks again. Much love x

Feeling the love in here guys.

@Miss_Behavin', I found that with my first dietician. She really seems to disapprove of gastric sleeves. I have no idea why she was in the profession. Anyway, she was replaced pretty quickly (not just by me - but by her employers.) and my next one was much better in that regard, but I just found the next one a little uninterested and she didn't ever give me any advice that was useful. I think @Denzel is right - you'll make a wonderful dietician, having been through this yourself :-)

Hey guys Iโ€™m back too. I used to be on the old site sleeved Jan 23 2015 ๐Ÿ˜Š good to see weโ€™re coming back together and helping others face what weโ€™ve come through ๐Ÿ˜Š what a journey itโ€™s been but in the end a good one where Iโ€™m more confident, get around better and do so much more. I have been married for 21 years (today) and hubby has been great and supportive and loves the new me although he had concerns to begin with when I couldnโ€™t keep weight on and went 15kg lower than the surgeon had predicted. I have to be careful and make sure I eat properly to keep the weight up but Iโ€™m Happier this way than the way I was before.
Great to be here, looking forward to chatting

Hi @Jules!

I think it's great we're all coming back together as well.

I feel like it's a kind of family reunion. ๐Ÿ˜‰

When I was researching the sleeve, I read about some people who lost too much and ended up struggling to maintain a healthy weight from the other side. I remember thinking "wow, I hope that's me!" But since being sleeved I have been ever so grateful that I was able to get to an ideal weight for me and maintain it. I think it would be terribly worrying to feel as if you could waste away.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary.. that's an amazing achievement in itself!

Much love
