I had surgery by Dr. Cunningham in Lafayette, La. My surgery was done at Southpark in Broussard, La. Dr. Cunningham is very professional. As a nurse practitioner, I didn't want someone to coddle me, I just wanted someone competent. He has a good reputation as far as surgery goes. I guess some say he's lacking in personality, but I found him very personable. He has a good handshake, makes good eye contact, takes his time in answering questions, and does not appear rushed. One think I especially like about him - he runs on time! I get called back at my scheduled time, and then he's in the room within just a couple of minutes! I had no complications and have had an easy time post-op.
Southpark is a small, private hospital. I went there because I was a cash pay rather than insurance. Nice, new hospital. Very quiet. I think there were only 2-3 patients on the floor and I got lots of attention. I do wonder how they stay open with so few patients, but the hospital was very nice and clean in appearance, the nurses were professional, and I felt comfortable there.

Hi, started to get off the computer and decided to look at your other post. I am having my surgery at south park also. Dr. Chu will do the surgery but i believe cunningham will be with her. This is great to know we are in this together. I will check in after my trip. pf337
