Thanks for the contact. You know I need to write the book. The experiences I have had over the last 12 months have been surprising and incredible. Its amazing what the human mind can do. I will let you know once I have written it but its a must do. Yep I have 76 kgs to go and I'm done.
Cheers

| Hey guys!
Also been away for a while! Recovery is going well, and I can pretty much eat anything I like! just tiny portions, even though I find I am eating more and more as time goes by. Xmas was a breeze, I actually lost 3 kgs over Xmas! Just the damned refluzes keep me up sme nights.. the gym is going well, and am losing volume as well as weight and adding muscle. I shaved my goatee after 11 years with i, and some people dont recognise me now! And I am fiting into my "sjkinny" jeans.. as all my more recent clothes are HUGE! Oh and the sex is great now.. much more drive and stamina! _________________ Weight preop: 134 Kg Sleeved 4th September 2008 Weight 17/01/09: 96.5kg Goal weight: 80kg

| Hi Legless
Sorry I fell off the radar. This silly thing called work and travel keeps getting in the way. I can only aspire to be the weight you are right now (bragger:) but my time to shine will come when I am 80kgs again. Something to think about while your are drinking your optifast is that I am about to sit down to Breaky. Mushrooms on toast and coffee !!! Have a good one !

| My surgeon's allowed me to cheat by permitting one small meal per day - as long as that meal is only a grilled or roasted skinless chicken breast or piece of fish, (or similar), served with a salad or mixed vegetables. You've no idea how much I look forward to that "meal"!!!
Oh.....BTW....the endoscopy was a breeaze!! Waiting around to be discharged was the biggest pain. The proceedure itself was a piece of cake. A canula in the back of the hand then the aneathetist starts injecting some stuff that looks like milk into the canula. Before he's half way through the injection you're waking up in recovery with this young filly of a nurse smiling at you. No, you haven't died and gone to heaven but I wonder if that's what it's like?!?!? |

| Hey Oldfart it's perseverence that will get you through just do what applesauce did at our house, clear the fridge & pantry of ALL picky bits, remove the temptations for a week to get your body used to the optifast & after that it's a breeze. _________________ Sleeved 3/12/2007 @114kg |

| Well guys I am afraid to say I can't even manage to go two optislim meals without picking at something ..... and I have tried three times already so my chances of losing much weight before surgery are a lot slimmer than Captain Legless's 5kg's loss already .... er if that makes sense _________________ 17/7/ 2008 134.5kg 4/9/2008 Operation weight 124.5Kg 5/10/2009 83kg

| Yeh after suviving 3 months on opti-puke (with a little Tony Furguson soup mixed in for good measure) even the post op liquids & mushies diet was heaven! But it achieved what I wanted which was a surgery that was a doddle (I did it in my sleep!) & a fast post op recovery as I was up & mobile 2 hours after the op as well as no post op complications. _________________ Sleeved 3/12/2007 @114kg |

Hiya shrinking, man what a start to your journey that was my biggest fear waking up like that so hence the 30kg weight loss pre op 3 months of optifast & excercise were worth it. And your loss post op way to go! keep it up! _________________ Sleeved 3/12/2007 @114kg |

| Hi Legless
Try and lose as much as you can. I was 226kgs going into the op. Part way through the op they decided to slice me open as it was too risky to continue. 4 hours in recovery and a night in intensive care was not fun. It added 6 weeks of total discomfort to my recovery. So try and lose as much as you can. |

| Greetings "shrinking". I'm just 4 days into the pre-op Optifast diet and it's bloody well killing me!!!!!!! I could it my mouse pad with slop of sauce on it. By the time I get to 15 weeks like yourself I would hope to be eating a full T-bone steak with a serve of chips and baked beans and still have room for some pavlova. Hope you can act as a mentor for us. The oldfart over there seems to think I'm going to lead the way for him.......pfffftttt!! |

| Exercise? Let me look that up in the dictionary :) No actually that does not look like my cup of tea. Actually its just the restriction and inability to breath my food in that has created my loss. However I am going to give this exercise thing a fly when it warms up a bit. I eat normal food - nothing special just like the rest of the family but smaller amounts of it. I also make better choices and drink more water than ever before. I must say I am very pleased with the results even though I have a long way to go !!. |

| HiYa Shrinking!! Nice of you to think of us and call in ..... gotta say I am impressed with the loss and can only hope I can match it in less time ;-) though over two kilos a week might be a hard act to follow. Did you follow a low joule diet as well as exercise routine? how about letting us know what you did or didnt do. _________________ 17/7/ 2008 134.5kg 4/9/2008 Operation weight 124.5Kg 5/10/2009 83kg

| I've an idea where you're coming from "oldfart". It seems like it would be criminal not to be able to finish that big plate of fish n' chips, curry, sirloin steak, shepherds pie......etc etc. How bad must it be standing beside the BBQ turning over steaks and snags knowing you can only suck the juice off one sausage and take a smell at a steak before you're feeling full?!?! How do you stop your mouth from watering and drooling when the pavlova and cheese cake gets dished up?!?!? Why am I going to do this thing called "sleeving" ???????????? :affraid: |

| Hi All???
That means both of you guys hey! :)
Hey TBAs, I was wondering if there was a super man "high" after having the operation? I mean haven been given "the" power to be able to control what you eat did this give a bit of a rush to start with but now that you realise physically you cant fit in what you wanted to fit in, has it become harder or easier for you ........ has there been any frustratiion because you cant eat as much etc I am not sure if this is making much sense or not ............ how you are doing mentally regarding food eating (for me I have always been addicted to it, were you??) ie: I cant stop at one lolly in the bag etc, so how has it effected that attitude mentally for you. _________________ 17/7/ 2008 134.5kg 4/9/2008 Operation weight 124.5Kg 5/10/2009 83kg
