PostSubject: How will I get through the next 51 weeks?   Tue 14 Sep 2010, 8:29 pm

First topic message reminder :

Hi guys,

I have only JUST taken out PHI last week and it's driving me nuts, knowing that I can't have my sleeve surgery for 12 months.

Are there a lot of you that had to wait this long? How did you cope?

I am going to try Tony Ferguson (again) in the meantime, but every time I try, I don't end up sticking to it.

Woe is me lol

I have nothing bad to say about him or his staff, he is excellent. He is funny, as you will see tonight when you go to his seminar.
He is very caring and will answer all questions you have. He has rang me twice after the surgery to see if I am ok. He didn't have to do that, he could of got Karen (his PA) to do it, but that personal touch makes him even better I think anyway.

Kay when you join most types of insurance the calls are recorded & if you were told that it was a 12 month wait then they have to give that. Speak to a team leader & ask if they record the calls. State that you specifically asked the question as that was one of the most important things to you & get them to acknowledge that it would make no sense to join a 2 year wait period fund based on that. If you dont get anywhere just keep going higher if the team leader gives you nothing demand their complaints dept.

Wow how rude! If they wont honour what they told you on the phone, I would demand to speak to someone higher and if that doesn't get you anywhere, I would cancel the policy and demand a full refund on what you've paid, you can only try.

18 days to go ...

Kay63, ring them back up and tell them what they said to you on the phone and see what they say. If they don 't honor what they said to you on the phone, you may have to change health insurers.

haha this topic is great... I too have waited a year from September 2010 and it feels like yesterday that I was filling in my medibank private forms. I had exactly the same feeling of wondering how the hell I was going to wait 12 months!! Well we've nearly done it and I cant believe it! Good Luck with everything!!
