Best of luck!  It's no easy fix, but has been life changing for me.  I hope you have the same experience.  I'm from Nth Qld - and one thing that I really appreciate now is that the heat just doesn't affect me like it used to.  Everyone else is whinging about the heat....but not me!

A real turn for the books.  One to look forward to for you!

Hi Guys and Gals,

Just a quick introduction and a bit about me. My name is Helen and I hail from sunny Darwin.  I have been obese for most of my life and like many of you on this forum have tried every diet under the sun.  After much deliberation I knew gastric sleeve surgery was the tool I needed to combat my endless battle with the bulge.  Furthermore, as an Aboriginal woman I was mindful of the poor health status amongst my people and I did not want to become another statistic.  One day I hope to use my experience as a means to inspire and motivate more people within my community to look at WLS as an effective tool in helping close the gap on Indigenous health.

In relation to my surgery date, I will be going under the knife this Friday 11 November.  I am extremely nervous, nevertheless I look forward to the journey ahead.
