Yes, unfortunately they won't book a date until payment is made. Well that was with me anyway. All up it took about 4 weeks to get it all done and in my bank.

Good luck with it

Thank you Tracy, I see Dr Taylor in 6 days, cannot wait to get the ball rolling, so to speak.

my BMI is 36 so I don't think I will qualify for the Concord option.

Can I ask, because you were accessing super, did you have to wait to get it approved before you got your surgery date?

Good luck with your op!

Hi40&fab

I am going thru the O'Clinic as well but with the other surgeon Dr Page. I have my op in about 2 weeks at Concord hospital.

I also went thru my super. It didnt take too long, you have to jump thru a couple hoops but nothing major. Just let me know if you have any questions.

Depending on your BMI the O'Clinic also goes thru the Concord Hospital which brought the price down to about $9000 which was great for me but I had a very high BMI.

Good luck with it all.

Hi 40 and fabulous
Reading your message sounds like my life except for the husband part, lol.
Its amazing how weight can affect so much of our lives. I too wake up with back pain and therefore making it hard to do any exercise. Also i find it hard getting to sleep. I am quite big breasted and I feel like its hard to breathe with so much fat around my chest area and around my neck area. It may sound wierd and maybe I'm the only one that feels it.

Won't it be the best feeling to buy clothing that we like and not having to buy something that hides our body. I cannot wait. I want to be able to wear heels again without the pain.

2016 will be the year for myself also, where I take my life back.
Good luck ☺

PostSubject: Another newbie   Fri 08 Jan 2016, 11:18 pm

hello

I am about to start my sleeve journey, I have my referral from my GP and am waiting for OClinic to reopen after Xmas on 11 January so I can make my appointment with Dr Craig Taylor.

I will be self-funding through superannuation.

I live approx 4hrs by car away from Sydney and I have heard that Dr Taylor will want me to stay in Sydney for 2weeks post op, in case of any complications.

I have struggled with my weight for about 15 years, I had post natal depression after my 2nd child and went onto medication and my weight just kept piling on. It's not just the medication, I became a comfort eater and made really bad food choices.

I am sick of hating my appearance, sick of being embarrassed about how I look, sick of not being able to buy nice clothes, sick of watching everyone else swim, sick of waking up with a sore back, sick of feeling unattractive for my husband, generally just sick of myself!

So 2016 is going to be my year of taking back my life!
