From Broth of Life ? It's nice - not as strong tasting as home made, more like cuppa soup !!!

Bone broth is yum! and perfect for your first two weeks.

I'm not sure about Chia seeds right after the op.  Personally I would wait until I could eat more solid foods before I had Chia seed pudding... Maybe its my version, but its kinda 'thick'.  I use about 1/3 cup chia seeds, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1 cup coconut milk and 1 cup yogurt.
(that last me about a week for snacks)

I eat it with rasberries normally, and it's yummy!  But its kind of a bit too 'heavy' for the first few weeks.  But you can only try, everyone is different with what they can a can't eat.

BTW I have made bone broth but couldn't bring myself to consume it so I've just ordered some organic dehydrated bone broth.

I have a chia pudding recipe that's not as rich and dairy free.
250ml unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons chia
2 tablespoons Desicated or shredded coconut

Put milk and chia in shaker. Shake straight away otherwise you'll get lumps. Add 2 tablespoons Desicated coconut and shake again. Refrigerate overnight. Eat by its self or with grapes, blue berries or whatever. Super heathy brekky. Note that is 2 serves and too much chia can give you diarrhoea.

My husband does the above but adds milo and uses cows milk.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm planning to do- I imagine I'll pretty much live on bone broth & water for the first 2 weeks !!!I brown the bones in the oven , then slow cook  with whatever veggies for about 40 hrs for beef, less for chook. Next time I'm going to put the slow cooker outside, though - my family complained about the smell, and I must admit it's pungent, I didn't like it , either, but it tastes great!!! I've also brewed a batch of kombucha, which I'm going to keep going as a continuous brew & keep having it long term.

I've made chia pudding before and LOVED it, but it may be a bit rich post sleeve, I don't know.

I also love coconut water, so I'll be drinking that , as denzel said, in the heat it's perfectv - so refreshing and hydrating . I don't know anything about aloe water, but I might look into that !

Hi Everyone,

I am going to be adding bone broth to my diet pre and post op to restore and repair. Id love to hear from anyone else that has given it a shot.

I have done a bit of research and found the following;

http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/320855-bone-broth/

I am also thinking about Aloe Water and Chia pudding to help with bowl movements post op.

Sounds good to me!

If I have cooked a duck or chook, I use the carcass to make stock.

I also had no added sugar coconut water - I was sleeved 2nd Feb this year and it was stinking hot weather.
I have also made Chia pudding with coconut milk - a bit rich for me.
Also home made pre-and pro biotic enhanced coconut yoghurt using coconut milk - once again, too rich for me.

But now the weather has warmed up, I'm going to start doing it again with strawberry protein powder (craving that - yep, I'm weird), water, coconut milk and pre and probiotics.
(I have some on-going gut problems, diarrhoea *sigh*).
I got the "Easy-yo" Yoghurt maker, Hansens is just the same, keep an eye for special at your Woolworths or similar grocery store.

I have tried making water (coconut) and coconut milk kefir - not successful yet!

All the best, and keep updating!
:)
