Wow, that was quick, Melt81 !!! Obviously, you have PHI up & ready to go (I had to wait the 12 months, mine kicks in 3 days prior to surgery lol !) What about the dietitian, GP , psych and surgeon consultations prior to surgery ?

With Mr Aly, my initial nurse visit was end of January (I think) last year, she booked in all my appointments and the surgery date then.  So I when I saw Mr Aly at the end of April the surgery was already booked for the end of May.  But as someone else said there was blood tests, dietician, psychologist appointments & sleep study between Feb and April.

Mr Aly is great.

Mel from memory I think my first appointment with him was in May and surgery was in August. There's a lot of other appointments in between though.

How long from the first appointment did it take with Draper to get on the table? It's like 4 months for the first appointment.....

I agree with Kat. Mr Draper is awesome. I was "sleeved" on 17/8 and couldn't be happier with the result. And I'm an older sleever!!!

Welcome Melt81

Whereabouts in Melbourne are you? Is this your first appointment (with the nurse) or appt with the surgeon and do you have to wait for PHI to kick in (like so many of us have) ?

You'll find this place very friendly, and a great  a wealth of knowledge :-)

Hello,

I have booked and appointment with Dr Aly's rooms in Melbourne for 22nd of September. I am guessing I am still a long way off from getting the surgery but fingers crossed it's a simple process.
I am excited that I am have finally made the decision.

I have just started a new job so not ideal timing but life is now about me and not my work.

I look forward to reading your experiences and getting advice.

Cheers
