Welcome ScaredyCathy, I'm preop but have had similar concerns, having the meeting with the Surgeon helped, I prepared as much as I could, then had a massive list of questions, it helped a lot.

Shygal, did you know the Super claim forms have changed ? Only last week.. I had mine downloaded and spent ages working on the budgets etc, but now they are super simple and you claim for early release of super through Centrelink on line... You still need the Specialist and GP signed form but you don't need to advise on budget and your outgoings... Hope that helps !!

Welcome once again ScaredyCat, this forum has everything you may ever want to know, just need to go through each of the sections, it may take awhile !

Hi I'm 4 days post op & feel great. I'm only taking 1 week off work (10 days with operation ) I'll be ready for work I'm sure but I'm normally behind a desk so I think it all depends on how physical your job is. Good luck & you'll be fine. Tracey

Good luck with your appointment, well done for having the courage to go to the appointment.

I just had my first consultation, my Doc pointed out that we will save alot of money on Food, especially if you count up all the takeaways and the cost of food!

Also my specialist advised that you can claim some cost on your Super, I got all the forms and applying atm also.  Financially for me taking 3 weeks off work
will be hard, as I work casually, so only get paid when I work, but in the long term it will be worth it :)

Hope all goes well

So here I am after thinking about this for 3 years. I have read and looked from the outside I finally bit the bullet and sled my gp for a referral.  so I am off to see Michael Hii on the 26/6 . I am scared to death of complications. Mostly because of the financial implications. I am not sure we could cope on just one wage for an extended period AMD feel guilty about the possibility of putting that pressure on my husband.
