My GP told me that some recent research has shown that  type of intractable vertigo is in fact, migraine. It was only discovered when it was found to respond to Topimirate an anti convulsants and anti migraine tablet. I used to get it a lot but it has gone completely since I was started on the Topamax for my epilepsy. Worthwhile mentioning to your GP to see if they are willing to trial it for you.

Sometimes, but not for walking around - unless I'm at a shopping centre with all the fluro lighting, then I wear my bifocal prescription sunglasses as it interfers with me neurologically.

I was interested in this comment "I have been experiencing for almost two years a CONSTANT feeling that is like a head rush or weird feeling  when you stand up with high blood pressure" because you usually can't tell when you have high blood pressure.  That sensation is actually due to your BP dropping when you stand.

I think that you definitely need to drink more fluids, maybe also try some rehydration fluids such as Gastrolyte or Hydralyte  = not sports or energy drinks, or soft or fruit juices.
Maybe try some chilled coconut water.  The canned ones with pulp are nice.

Cheers.

Don't know if this is any help, but I had 'brain fog' until I went gluten free in 2002.  (I also have ME/CFS and Menieres Disease).

PostSubject: Dizziness/head rush feelings   Sat 21 Mar 2015, 1:39 am

I had the gastric sleeve in 2010 and have lost 75 lbs.  I take vitamins and know that I probably do not drink enough water because that has never been my thing even before the surgery.
I have been experiencing for almost two years a CONSTANT feeling that is like a head rush or weird feeling  when you stand up with high blood pressure.  It never goes away.  I walk around like my head is in the clouds.  I thought I had something going on in my head and so in 2013 I had all my blood work as well as CT scans and all the normal testing.  Kept telling me it was vertigo.  I went to vestibular rehab for a month and they said it was not vertigo.  Then they said it was migraines and put me on medication which did not help.  I have just went back again and had an MRI of the head, and neck with the contrast to check my blood vessels to make sure there was not anything being pinched.  Well that came back and its showing a C5-C6 disk issue with some slight compression but doctor is saying that it has nothing to do with the issues in my eyes. I went to Optometrist who has check my eyes inside and out and found nothing. I have had blood checked and the doctors have not said anything about being low.  I take potassium and butterbur (which doctor said would help with magnesium issues if this was migraines)
I just can't believe that it would be migraines 365 days a year.   I walk around with my head and eyes feeling like this all the time.  It literally never goes away.  I have learned to cope with driving and my working but its getting very hard.  I was wondering if this is a digestion problem or something to do with gluten or caffeine.  Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Please help me feel normal again.
