Tired eyes tired mind - long day LOL
Time for bed for this bunnykin. I'm starting to sound cranky in my replies - not a good sign!

ToMissKA - Chris Couch is in Waikiki in Western Australia. He is part of the Perth Obesity Clinic

There is message thread about Perthites and their surgeons - he gets a pretty good rapport :-)

Who is Chris Couch, Carol? Hopefully I'm not being too ignorant!

Hi Carollsadler

Welcome to the forum. I think it is a good sign that there is quite a wait to get into your surgeon. I don't think I would trust someone I could see straight away. I would be thinking why isn't he busier? Does the others know something I don't. LOL.

cheers Nini

Welcome to the forum! I hope the time til your op passes quickly for you.  In the meantime, you've got time to read all the wonderfully inspiring stories on here - that's how I'm passing the time :-)

Most surgeons have some lengthy waiting times. My first consult was November and my surgery was late March.

I only waited a month for my first consult though, four months seems a bit extreme.

Yes. Doctor is happy to refer me and complete necessary paperwork for early release of super. Although I was very disappointed when I contacted Dr Werapitiya's office to find his first appointment for a consult is the end of January. Following posts from others it seems there's usually another couple of months till surgery. At this rate I'll be looking at mid 2015. Thought once I'd made the decision things would happen a little faster than that!

Hi
After two years of hip appointments, relieved only after cortisone injections and being told it is mechanical (i.e. lose weight and it'll sort itself out!), not to mention over the past 20 years the usual poor self esteem, fat clothes etc, I'm off tomorrow for an appointment with my GP to get a referral for WLS. Hoping to see Dr Werapitya in Bunbury.
I've been doing lots of reading here and feel really inspired. Thanks everyone.
