Hey Lea50

I am with Medibank and I was out of pocket $4000 for Surgeon and about $1000 for Anthiesist. That was once I took all my receipts into Medicare (which gives you the most back, even Dietician consults) and Medibank.  Hope this helps, Dr Quinn is lovely and Dr Russell is very friendly and professional, great surgeon.  It was my First ever operation!

Thanks Looloo,
Very helpful to know.  If you don't mind me asking how much do you think the out of pocket fees ended up costing , I am covered by HCF but just want to make sure I have enough money put away for everything.

PostSubject: I've seen Dr Russell    Sun 06 Jul 2014, 5:12 am

Hello Lea50,

I have been sleeved by Dr Russell in April this year, when I saw him he booked be in for surgery 2 weeks later.  The next day I started optifast.  He had had a cancellation, I think that's how I got in sooner. But they say about a month from the day you visit him. Hope this helps, best of luck!

Hi Lea, I'm afraid I can't help with an answer to your questions, but I'm sure someone with the knowledge will pop in soon!

But I wanted to say welcome, and hopefully all your fears will be alleviated by the support I know you'll get from everyone here!

Hi, would like to thank you for allowing me to join this site, like everyone I am very nervous/excited/worried about the prospect of being sleeved. Does anyone know how long after the consultation with Dr RUSSELL the surgery takes place. I am seeing Dr QUINN on 16/7/14 & Dr RUSSELL on 29/7/14.
