From what I have read it does seem like most can do during the week (lunch) which as I said would suit me better.

Anyway I will leave dates up to you Chris......you always get stuck with the hard decisions LOL!!!

I realise Yarraville is the other side of urne and that is why I also suggested Greensborough as our sleever from Yarraville could use the ring roads if they were interested in coming, it was just a thought......I am embarrassed that I can't for the life of me remember their name.

Anyway it appears that Yarra Glen or Warrandyte is OK....I do not know anywhere specifically however I can ask around and get back with suggestions re possible venues.
I do however have a problem with the dates you have suggested though as I am unable to make it on the 12th or 13th or anytime before the 16th actually .....I can make it Thursday 17th, Fri 18th, Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th or anytime the following week.
During the week actually suits me better than the weekend, however I can possibly do either, depending on the date.

Lisa, yes we can certainly go together, you could drive to my place and then I will drive to Yarra Glen or Warrandyte if you like; I will give you a call....hope all is well?

I will certainly understand if the majority would like to go ahead on a date I am unavailable and in that case I will just have to catch up at the next meet up.

Okay, so Yarra Glen seems like the place to go for most.
I have been there, but only to the cheese factory, so don't know what else is there.
Can anyone else suggest somewhere to meet?
And since the weekend seems to suit most people, let's make it Saturday the 12th or Sunday the 13th - either suits me, what about you? And yes, let's do lunch!
And if anyone wants to come but needs a lift, I'll be happy to help out. I'm at Burwood East.

Okay, so I've been checking out google maps, and Yarra Glen and Yarraville are nowhere near each other! LOL But I can do either Warrandyte or Yarra Glen, and am happy to do so.
I'd prefer during the week, but those that work probably would prefer a weekend.
So, depending on who's coming, how about Wednesday 9th or Sunday 13th? Can't suggest a place at either Yarra Glen or Warrandyte because I don't know the areas.

I have a Tom Tom and he usally doesnt led me astray, there have been moments but we wont go into that.

I suppose depends who is ACTUALLY coming as to where is the most central place....I'm thinking of a couple....Doncaster Shopping Town, (only because if the Yarraville sleeve wuld like to come it may be easier for her to get to??? ; Warrandyte, Yarra Glen???
What does everyone think and you we have a date in mind?

I'm at Burwood East, and Healesville was originally chosen as it was just Daisy and I, and it was approximately half way between each.
I'm new to Melbourne, so don't really know my way around - can you suggest somewhere more central to everyone? Daisy is about 3/4 of an hour on the other side of Healesville.

Hi Chris I am back from my holiday and would love for another meetup with you and anyone else that wants to.
Chris and l met up in Healsville at the Healesville Bakery (where you get an endless cup of coffee) as thats about an hour for me and maybe 45 mins for Chris but if that doesnt suit anyone else we can arrange another place but l am going t leave it all up to Chris to organize (sorry Chris). and Chris l am nearly over the pneumonia only a bit of a cough left.Hooray

Sorry Chris but it looks like I will have to miss meeting up with you again,
my 20 yr old daughter has been admitted to the Austin Hospital with severe upper abdominal pain and they cant find a find out what is causing it so they have her zonked out on morphine and she is still in agony so they are doing a gastroscopy hopefully tomorrow and if that doesnt reveal anything then surgery. So it looks like she will be in for a while, I just hope she is out and well by the 17th when I have my band out..

I am going away on Friday to Adelaide then on to Mildura and l will be gone for 2 weeks.
I went to the Doctor's today to get some more antibotics for the pneumonia , which l have had for 5 weeks but l am nearly better an the Doctor said it was okay to go.
There's probaly not enough time to organize a meetup before Friday bu if its possible just let me know, just not Thursday.

I too am hoping to join the Melbourne meet up group in the near future, I am due to be sleeved 22nd July (so only 7 days away although I am to be admitted to hospital beforehand, on Sat 18th and I will need to stay in for at least a week post op).
I am so excited it is finally to happen although I am extremely nervous at the same time.
Sending a big hug your way and wishing you the best of luck with your band removal on the 22nd issi, thinking of you will give me something else to focus on S day LOL.

Daisy and I are meeting up at Healesville on Wednesday 24th June.
We'll be at the Beechworth Bakery, which Daisy assures me is very easy to find - just fllow the Maroondah Hwy through Healsville and the Beechworth Bakery is on the right. Huge big sign, shouldn't be able to miss it.
So if anyone else wants to join us, you'll be very welcome.
The reason we're doing it so far out is that it's half way between our homes.
If anyone else wants to meet at another time, in another place, that's good too - just let us know.

We 've found out that we dont have swine flu just regular flu so thats good I suppose. I am getting it too so I think its making the fibro flare up alot more. Hopefully we will meet up soon, I am not that far away from you...

I have fibro too, so I know what you mean about the pain. Hopefully the lupus test will be negative - fingers crossed.

I would normally be there with bells on but I have 2 kids with possible piggy flu at the moment so we arent really leaving the house and I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia and possibly lupus and am in agony all the time especially with this cold damp weather. So maybe next time and hopefully by then I will be sleeved!
