Hi Leonie - yes, the surgery went well, thanks. It was actually worse than expected, so will take even longer to recuperate, but I was prepared for that.

That's great news, Issi - good luck with the first op. How long do you have to wait for that one to heal before you can get the sleeve done?
And gooduck to you, too, lisa - hope it all goes well for you. You might miss food this christmas, but by next christmas you'll be very happy with the results.
Hugs
Chris

Congratulations Issi,
I am so happy for you!!!
Can I just ask why two surgeries?
I am being sleeved on the 30th (omg 6 sleeps) so will still be in hospital when you go in so
Good Luck Sweetie and we will meet up again when we are both recovered.
Now we can put our band nightmares behind us and get on with our lives.

Thanks very much, Issi.
Let us know how you go with your surgeon's visit - I'm sorry you've put on weight, but hopefully that will swing things in favour of the sleeve, so it might not be all bad.
Hugs
Chris

Good Lisa & Chris with your surgeries this week i hope they go smoothly and recovery is speedy x

I see the surgeon on Tuesday - i'll let you know what he says. I have put on 12.8kg according to wii fit. It is so depressing especially the fact that i am exercising and still gaining weight. Normal people don't gain weight this fast.

Leonie i hope you are feeling better soon and adjusting to life with the sleeve :)

Speak Soon, Issi x

Hi Leonie,
Hope your feeling better and yes we will talk soon.
Issi let us know how you are going especially after you've been to see Dr McHenry..

I cant make it next week either as I promised that I would spend my last weekend before my surgery doing fun things with the kids, I think they are more nervous about it than I am ...

Chris , Good Luck with your shoulder surgery I hope everything goes well and you recover quickly...

Donski, hope to meet you next time (probably after Xmas for me)

15 sleeps to go,
Lisab

Hi All

Apologies for not making it Saturday...was unwell for a couple of days with headaches...probably the heat and dehydration (don't get in nearly enough fluids...never have actually!)

Just noticed that the meet up was postponed after all, with Christmas only weeks away and a couple of our Melbourne girls having surgery over the next couple of weeks perhaps we will need to look toward the new year for our next get together, I know next week was mentioned, unfortunately I won't be able to make that either as my husband will be overseas and I have numerous commitments on the homefront whilst he's away....sorry!

In the meantime:

~ Chris...good luck with your shoulder surgery next week, I'll be thinking of you!
~ Lisab...good luck with your sleeve surgery next week, I can't believe how quickly your date has arrived...your journey finally begins...I'll be in contact!
~ Issi...let me know how you are going and if you have finally had a date arranged for your sleeve surgery and didn't you have another surgery planned as well?
~ Donski...I was looking forward to meeting you...oh well next time!

Ah well, you know what the say - the best laid plans.
Sorry, but I won't be able to make another meet-up for a while as I'm having my shoulder operation next week, but I hope you have a good one and I look forward to hearing all about it.
Hugs
Chris

Vic Harbour Kitchen & Bar
70 New Quay Promenade, Docklands, VIC
(03) 9670 5550

you can pull up a map or directions on google

the middle of the city is closed from 11am for myer parade so allow extra traffic time.

Most parking around docklands is $5 flat rate daily but be sure to check first.

http://www.waterfrontcity.com.au/Gettinghere/WaterfrontCityMap/tabid/220/Default.aspx

this map shows the carparks. The restaurant is in the new quay precient. Park accordingly or you'll be up for a big walk! If your catching the tram get off out the front if Chanel 7 it's a short walk from there maybe 5 mins.

See you all at 1pm and hope to see you too Chris if your up to it :)

Send me a pm if you need help with directions and I'll send u my mobile number.

I'll be there, looking forward to it.
In the absence of any other suggestions, how about Vic Harbour restaurant/bar? It is 'modern Australian cusine' and is about 2/3 of the way down right on the waterfront (from the city). I haven't been there myself, but looked ok on google? I also haven't booked, I wonder how many of us there will be or if anyone else has any suggestions?

Hi everyone
I can do the 14th too; might be able to swing the 15th, but not sure yet. And Docklands is great - no problem.
Sounds like a plan!!!
Chris

Docklands is great for me too, and 14th or 15th is also good as I can have my last splurge before starting opti on the 16th...

Docklands is great. I can do Sat 14/11, but not the 15th. Or any weekday.

Saturday 14th or Sunday 15 is best for me. Docklands sounds great if it is okay with other people too. There are so many nice places to go around there. Parking is $5 flat rate at New Quay / Victoria Harbour end of the docks so no worries about getting fines. I'm not sure if there is any free parking other than the first hour which is always free.

The Docklands Yhat club restaurant/cafe is really nice or there are cafes nearby it with comfy couches very relaxing. Anything you guys pick is fine by me :)

I'm seeing the surgeon on the 24th hopefully i get a date then. I have to have other surgery on the 18th first though.

I can't do the 13th, but otherwise any time within those dates suits me so far.
Let's go somewhere where we won't get booked this time! LOL Other than that, I'm open as to place.

Hi All

Firstly..... I hope all went well Donna and you are home recovering....Lisa, I'm counting down...not long to go now and Issi have you managed to get a date as yet?
Chris not long before your surgery....I hope you are not too nervous!

Re the meet-up....at this stage I would be available any day between the 9th-16th November; has anyone got a preference for dates or places?

The first two weeks of November are great for me as well as I have to start opti on the 16th. Any day except the 10th (final appoint with surgeon), would be fine and any place is fine too...

Hi everyone
Firstly, good luck for tomorrow, Donna. I hope you have a nice easy surgery and recovery.
Next, just don't let the turkeys get you down, Issi - they have no idea of what you've been through. Hopefully the next couple of months will pass more quickly for you, and this time next year they'll all be jealous of you!
As for a November meet-up, I'm in - but I'm having my shoulder surgery on the 19th, so it'd have to be before then for me. Any day, any place, though!
Hugs
Chris

Is a weekend day better for people? Can't wait to get sleved the weight gain post band removal is out of control and I still eat far less than the skinny people around me I don't get it. Just want the scales to stop moving up I gotasked how far along I was on the weekend I wanted to cry. It wasn't said as an insult. I can't believe I look pregnant to other people now. Bring on December already!
