What is the problem Betty... you have messages in your in box but can't get to them is that right? Have you gone into Messages (above right) and clicked onto inbox??? If not, go into your preferences and change Allow members to send me private messages to yes..... hope that helps.

Oh thanks for that Countrygirl,
I think maybe if we see any empty posts, just notify a mod, or myself, and we can edit that little trouble maker out! LOL. I can't believe that happened! It was working fine or so I thought!
Thanks again for your help.

Guess I'm smarter that the average bear, booboo. LOL

Nah it was the only one I used in a post once and by means of deduction I thought it could only be that as typing doesn't do it. All's good. Also didn't want to seem a pain but then I have noticed lots of empty posts too. There was even one that I did earlier in my diary that was okay but I had a look last night and it had disappeared again. Deleted the emoticon and the post is back. Don't know if peoples want to check their diaries for any blank posts and fix it themselves?

I have seen empty posts too, and I wondered if it was a mistake made by the poster, and honestly havent given it much thought because it was only 1 or two I think I have seen. But I am glad we know the problem, and have solved it. Just call me maria! LOL.
Thanks for letting me know, how did you figure out it was the emoticon anyhow??

Yes that emoticon is obviously doing something as I have seen posts with nothing there. I kept trying to find out where my post was as when I went to edit it was there but not when I sent it. So I deleted the emoticon and the post appeared.

Thanks

Hi all,
ok so its the emoticon with the big surprised look with the huuuuge eyes!
I will remove it, as its obviously wiping posts out for some reason... odd, but anything can happen!

As for the pages loading slowly, I havent noticed it myself, but I use firefox now and it never runs slowly. This type of forum was created to be used with firefox, and although you can still use internet explorer and any other browser of course, there seems to be very few problems with surfing the boards with firefox. This is the main reason that the pages load slowly for those using anything other than firefox... and in my opinion it sux.

You've cleared your cache, so that's not the problem, but the other thing that comes to mind is that the forum is in the middle of an update, or has just had an update. If that is the case, then pages do run slow for a few days. I wish I was a computer geek, I really do as I would be able to explain things much easier, and maybe even come up with a solution. But I just cant sowwy!! Tell me if the pages are any better tomorrow and if not, I will make contact with the creators.

Hi Ya,

I'm finding EVERY page on the site loads very slow, and has only done so in the last three days, could this be related?

I am using Internet Explorer 8 and have cleared my cache - no luck though

I only did the first few to see if they would work and they did. As soon as I edited to put in the 5th one down it made the post disappear. The one where his eye bulge out and goes white.

I will do the others and see.

Ok, well you only have 5 emoticons there, and I wrote the codes for every emoticon, so can you describe which one it is that is the problem?
Cheers.

Hi Countrygirl,
I wonder do you have emoticons ticked yes on your profile preferences?
Please just double check your settings, and then double check that you have all the boxes ticked correctly on your post options. If you still have problems, let me know.

Having problems with Emoticons. I typed in my post and hit send and there was nothing there. When I removed the emoticon it was back

Hi Hayley,

Just ignore my previous message. I realised there was a locked thread and that was creating my problem.

Thanks for this message, Hayley.
I was online when it went down, and my first thought was "oh my god, what did I do?" - knowing, of course, that I didn't do anything that would cause the schemozzle that happened! LOL
I'd just posted an update, too - just as well I keep copies!
Not to worry - these things happen in cyberspace. Thanks for letting us know the cause and results.
Chris

PostSubject: Site Error Announcements   22/09/08, 07:29 pm

Hi everyone,
On sunday night the creator's forum of this forum crashed, and as it was during the night over there- USA, they were not aware that it had a dramatic effect on our forums.
Our site was down for about 9 hours today due to this, and also as a result of this, we have lost all posts that were posted from Sunday until this morning.
There was no way of creating an announcement, as it would have just disappeared into oblivion, and I do apologise for this.

I will be looking into way that I can avoid this in future, and once again I do apologise for the lost posts and the down time today.
Thanks for your patience.

Hayley
