PostSubject: Re: Oldest posts   04/07/09, 11:14 pm

Nothing gets deleted unless someone requests it, and it only would apply to their posts.
Threads that are really old and that no one has replied to go to a section that only I can see, but nothing has gone there as yet. I can go right back to the beginning of Chris's thread, so it definantly is not lost. Is anyone else having this issue??

Generally text is cheap. It costs very little to store and very little to send to us.

Now images are a different things altogether.

Hi everyone
Well, I managed to get back to the beginning and save the pages on my computer, so if they disappear again, I'll still have them.
In general, though, I agree with Shanna - how long do we keep old stuff?
Thanks
Chris

I tried to re-read Chris's diary but I can't find the early pages anymore either. They were there in February.

PostSubject: Deleting dead threads   03/07/09, 04:14 am

I was just thinking that maybe some of the oldest dead threads (not diaries though) should be deleted since they just sort of clutter everything up - but that is me - no sentiment - and throwing things away is one of my favorite activities. Particularly some of the polls that no one has replied to in a long time.
How are we going to know if a post is from last July or this July? are we demarcating it somehow?

Anyway I just threw out two tops that I bought a few months ago that either stretched or I shrank and so my discarding gene will just have to be happy with that

Thanks Hayley - I can't remember the date, but I'll try again, as I definitely didn't get back that far before.
And I look forward to hearing if you find out any more about printing, too.
Chris

Hey Chris,
What date can you get back to? Because I got back to 14/07/08, in which it was three weeks after your sleeve, and it appears would be your first diary entry.

Re:Printing threads, I am not sure on that, I think the only way would be to highlight the page and right click, then click print. I will find if there is a simpler way.

Hi Hayley
It's my diary - Chris's Journey - in the diaries section.
And since this happened, I was wondering if there's an easy way to print out a whole thread - I'd hate to lose all that info!
Thanks
Chris

No Chris they most certainly do not get deleted.
Can you point me to the thread you are talking about?

Okay, so I was trying to get back to my very first post, and I couldn't go back beyond a certain point - do the oldest ones get deleted? If not, how do I find them?
Thanks
Chris
