Thanks all. I can definitely use the techniques listed [in my journal] to post pictures into my journal. It looks like I won't be able to make my own gallery though. That's a shame. We each should have equal access to what this board offers; and I'd love to see photos of every milestone we reach. I know when I've been struggling this week, one of the most important things that lifted my spirits was being able to see the progress of other members. It motivates me to no end to see that within a year some of the other men in the gallery lost so much! So trust me the galleries are big help to me. It gives me such mental support to see how the pounds just melted away on many of our members. I'd like to think that one day I too could inspire by making my own gallery. Ii've lost so much that I finally felt brave enough to post some photos. I'll just have to wait. Let me know when this hiccup gets addressed and fixed.

I just tried to make my personal gallery. I too got the error message (files are too big) before having any option to post a picture. It seems the limit for the site has been reached again as discussed in the previous discussion on this post. I can't wait to see more pictures of our progress as a group. Maybe we can link to a free picture hosting site?

Oh, well, you can donate as much or as little as you like, and I would never be insulted! I am sure paypal allows small payments of just a few dollars, so yeah even just a few dollars is a big help. Most have donated anywhere from 5 dollars to 20. Thanks ladies, and thank you to all contributors.

How much money do people normally contribute Hayley. I'm happy to do so - but don't want to insult you by giving too little, and don't want to create poverty by giving too much! :-)

You can send me a PM if you prefer.

Thanks
Caz

Hi Mama,
When I began the forum, I put the money in, which was not a lot really.
But there is a button on the homepage at the very bottom which is 'Contribute'.
If you click on that you can make paypal donations, which go straight into our forum, then I pay for space, time and our domain name with that. Although this sounds like a lot, a little goes a long way!! I usually do a shout out if we are in need, but always welcome the input!
Thanks for asking Mama!
And just on a side note, if you have contributed in the past, you should have the rank title of
'Sponser'! But if you are a top poster, you will have the rank 'Top Poster'.
Either way, you deserve both, but can only have one, so if you are a 'top poster' and a sponser, please let me know which rank title you would prefer to have on your posts and profile!!

Hayley, who pays for the purchase of internet space and time, and paying off the advertisers? You, I presume. Can we contribute? I don't know anything about how these forums operate. You do such a wonderful job - you shouldn't be out of pocket over it.

Mama

Sorry ladies,
I have just purchased some more space and more time.
You should be able to upload some pics now. Please let me know if you have any trouble.

It may be because the site has used up all the available limit for uploading files. Does that make sense?
I know when I first tried to add photos I got a similar message and it was because there was no space available, I think that Hayley may have had to buy more.

(Assuming you are using Windows - let me know if it is something else) then could you go into Explorer and look at the size of the images (If you need instructions, let me know).

If they are really big (like over 1mb) then it would be best if you resized them. Make a copy of the pictures and then open them up with Start\All Programs\Accessories\paint and then Click on Image/Resize and change the 100s against resize (there are 2 of them) to 10 and click on OK. Save. They should no be small enough to upload.

If it makes them too small then undo and try again with a bigger number than 10.

By George, I "think" I've got it.

Amazing, if we can just have that bit of time to 'play' and discover, what we can find.

PostSubject: Can someone please tell me how to add a WL ticker to track my WLJ?   13/06/09, 08:59 pm

Hi Hayley
Just wondering can you please tell me how I go about adding the Weight Loss Graph, I think it is called Ticker?
I have been to the ticker site and made myself up a little graph, but have no idea how to bring it across to my Sleeve Support profile.
I've had aplay and put a pic on there, I think you call it an Avatar, but can't do the other.
Hope you can help.

PostSubject: How to add a picture to the gallery.   26/11/08, 07:55 pm

Hi everyone,
I thought I would give a run down on how to add your pics to the gallery, and I hope this helps.

So, to add a picture to the gallery, go into the gallery.

If you are adding something to the Get together albums then click on the album that you want.
If there is not an album yet created for what you want, let me know so I can create one.

On the top left of the album, there is an 'Upload' button. Click that.

In the name of what you are uploading, make it simple and easy to understand, ie; Adelaide GT- 12/12/08.

In the description, add in who is in the pic, where it was held and anything else you would like to share.
Please dont forget to tell us who is in the pic- unless they would prefer to be anonymous.

Now click on 'browse'

Once you have chosen your picture, click 'add file'

Once this is done, click 'save'.

And that is all you have to do!

Do keep in mind that you need to label these pics well, as in a few years, we will have so many and not know who is who and what is what- especially since we will all have changed so dramatically!
I hope this helps!
