| Thanks guys. I will try a garage sale, then Ebay and failing that the Markets. I wish we had that tax rule as in the states, that would be great.
Cheers Bx _________________

Do you all do yard sales over there, those work well over here also, if you get one person who is looking for a size, they tend to load up if you give them a good deal. Oma |
Yep we do yard sales, but we call them garage sales! We usually have the stuff on the driveway and in the garage! I am yet do have one myself, had them as a kid, but never done one myself. Maybe I should soom, I have heaps of stuff to go, and will have heaps of clothes to get rid of soon! |

| Blossom, I too have many good clothes, including a silk top that still has the $99 price tag on it that I haven't worn.
I'm going to list on ebay but as I want to sell this stuff I will more than likely underprice it and use the "Buy it now"option instead of auctions as I want to move them quickly and not pay heaps of ebay fees. Any $$ is good at the moment. I need to try heaps of things on and cant be bothered. If it's something I can adjust, basic sewing, I will as that is a saving in itself.
You may have to underprice them, but at the moment with the economy the way it is things wont sell at higher prices but now is a good time to list and hopefully some people will spend their $900 stimulus package on clothing! |

| Blossom, I don't know if you get tax deductions from donation to charities, but I have made so many years of donations with yoyo dieting while working, I swear the tax man thinks I own a clothing store. If you are in the US, you can donate your clothing items (some will pick up from front porch and leave you a receipt.) I make sure I take pictures of everything, make a list and price them out with (It's deductible, which is a free program to upload if you use turbo tax). I save everything in online files along with a folder for donation receipts and at the end of the year, I am able to deduct it all on my income and it saves me a lot in taxes. So instead of selling things, I end up with a larger tax refund at the end of the year. So you have to plan ahead. You have to wait a year, but just think of what you will have in hand a year from now, but have cleaned out all your things all through out the year and not wait around for someone on ebay to buy them and have to ship them. I have even gone through boxes of shoes to clean out all the small ones, too tight ones, old lady because I am heavy ones and don't forget the purses and scrarves as coordinates. All tax deductible donations. It is really refreshing to start over this way and have donated to someone esle who needs it. Even the good things. Let them all go, as you let the weight go. I think I got a bigger tax deduction in refund than I would have selling them on ebay. So it's just all how you want to do things. Donating is free, just takes your time to do the following: Make a pile each month of all the following items to take pictures: Shoes, purses, scraves, jewelry. stack up pants. shirts, blouse in piles. dressees, skirts, jackets on hangers. Take the pictures of the items piled up and all stacked in boxes or plastic bags all together, with name and date of charity drop off and pick up on the box/bags. Print out a copy of your pictures, and staple with the charity receipt in folder. If you do this every month, you will find you had quite a lot of donations, easy to itemize them and price value them and at the end of the year, you have all the information and proof required to fill out your tax forms. I hope that helps you all. It's helped me stay on top of things and I feel good all year and I was really surprised how much I was rewarded for my efforts on my tax refund. Oma _________________

| Yep Ebay is good for clothes, especially good condition. Just make sure you put enough on for postage. |

| Hi Everyone
I have so much clothing to get rid off its not funny! I have given away quite alot but I now have the good stuff to get rid off and need to sell it so I have the funds to purchase my new "skinny" clothes...
Can anyone suggest a good way of doing this? Is Ebay the way to go? I have 22's, 20's, 18's - tops & pants, jackets etc...
Thanks Nicole _________________
