Hi Deb,
I seen Dr Greenslade on Thursday (yesterday) for the first time and my lapband is being removed in two weeks and my surgery date was set for the 10th of May for the sleeve. I couldnt believe he could fit me in so fast. Even his appointment fee was $60 cheaper than two other surgeons I had rung. He also attached a quote for the sleeve surgery to my email query even though I had not asked how much the procedure was. I was so impressed with him. At no time did I feel uncomfortable about my weight or any questions I asked.
Fingers crossed we may be sleeved in the same month or day lol
I hope everything goes well for you on Monday and I look forward to finding out what happens:)

Hi Karin,

I too am Northside Brisbane, and looking at Justin Greenslade for a sleeve, and see him on Monday about it. I shopped around first, and couldnt get past his honesty, approachibility and well.....price! His prices were so affordable and he was so earnest in wanting to keep his services affordable for everyone which is more than I can say for some of the other surgeons I saw. (I just can't justify $5K more for extra allied health support)

I liked that the surgery is done in hospitals that have both an Emergency department and an ICU/CCU facility, just in case something does go wrong..(I like to cover all my bases).

Mostly what swung it though was the prompt personal answers to my emails, being treated like a person, and his open and calm beside manner.

I dont know what his lists are like and am hoping a sleeve can be done early/mid May.

Good luck with the band removal, and enjoy your apple!

Deb

PostSubject: My surgery dates are set   26/02/10, 06:39 am

Hello everyone I have some exciting news after seeing Dr Justin Greenslade at Greenslopes hospital yesterday. I am booked in to have my band removed in two weeks! Yes two weeks. Can you believe it. March 10th I get my band out and my sleeve surgery is already booked for the 10th of May. Wahoo! I can hardly wait.

Because I am not covered by PHI and am accessing my super Justin is removing my band at the QEII hospital and not the private hospital therefore reducing my costs considerably.

For my sleeve surgery I have been quoted $15,566.00. This includes the surgeons fee, anaesthetist fee, theatre fee, prosthetics (staples) and three night stay in Greenslopes private hospital.
Dr Justin Greenslade was so nice and non judgemental about my lapband failure. He went out of his way to inform and help me to work out how I could afford these procedures. As my band removal is being done at a public hospital I can afford to pay for this myself. This way I have to apply to super for only one surgery and not two.
I did like his scales as I was under 130kg - 128.7kg lol terrible weight to be I know but it was lower than I weighed myself at home.
