| Hi Lib
Wow, it is a small world.
Perhaps after we're both 'done' we can get together, compare war stories and have something to sip!! |

| Welcome to the forum Rosie,
Good luck with your surgery. I am sure you will find life with a sleeve easier than your former life with the band. _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w5m0oJz/] Pre-op Consult Nov 2008, 124kg Surgery Date: 22nd Jan 2009, 112kg |

| Hi Rosie and welcome aboard. You've come to the right place. As a fellow former bandster I share your pain. I had my band out in January too and I know exactly what you mean about no restriction. I'm trying semi-hard not to put on too much weight before sleeving. It's great you've got your date already. I see my surgeon at the end of April and will be pinning him down for a date then. I'm desperate. Make sure you keep us updated on your progress. I love to follow ex bandsters and revel in their fantastic progress with the sleeve. Hugs, Janey _________________ Janey

| Hi Everone !!
After reading many of your posts over the last few weeks I've decided to join the 'fun'!!
Here is my story so far.......
I was 'banded' in March 2007 at 130kg and travelled along quite nicely until about September 2008. I then started having massive restriction and vomitting. Surgery to fix a potential slipped band revealed I had a hernia and it was repaired at the time. A repeat of the same symptoms resulted in my band being removed in January this year.
I am now (with much relief) going in to be 'sleeved' on Monday, 6 April at a weight of 110kg. My lowest weight (about the time of the hernia repair was 88kg). I was then about 92kg when the band was removed. From then (and in that 3 months ish) I have blown out another 20kg ish (disgusting!)
The reason for this (and I'm sure some of you band to sleevers will relate) is the total lack of restriction you have one the band is gone - your brain just can't adapt as quickly as the body. I had huge restriction for months and to go from that to none was really asking for trouble. My 'sense' of being full seems to be gone or very rarely makes itself known!
I'm looking forward to comparing my progress this time around against others on here, as well as sharing thoughts, ideas, challenges and victories.
Best Wishes Everyone !! |
