Hi,

I have been stalking in here for about 6 months now, and I decided way back then that I was going to be sleeved, so I got around to putting in my application in to APRA just over a month ago, they asked for a few extra things, and I called today and they said I could call tomorrow lunch time and they should be able to give me an answer, now I am so nervous, scared, excited, worried, wrecked!! If they say no I will be absolutely crushed, but if they say yes, I will be........ thin...... ...

I was at my brother's yesterday doing some cleaning and sorting. Last night I barely slept cos i could not get comfortable and today I have had a lot of incision pain. Had a shower tonight and my dressings were falling off so I figured I'd take them off and have a look (gotta love the nurse in me). Left cut and two lower cuts look GREAT! Central cut and drain hole BAD. Pus coming out both. A little from the central but a fair bit from the drain hole.

Hi Girls

I was originally banded by Prof O'Brien in Melbourne in 2000 and then re-banded in Dec 08. All my after care was with Charlie, and yes he is a great Dr, sweet guy and genuine in his concern for me.

He was very loathe to do the sleeve and sent me back to Prof for my revision so I'm not sure what to do?

I started in 2000 @ 142.5kg dropped to 106kg and then by Dec 08 back at 138kg!!! Post 2nd band I am at 140kgish(my scales only go to 136!!) so I am a bit disheartened to say the ...

I'm in the research stage of WLS I was initially considering the Gastric Band and have spoken to a couple of people who have had a band and and told me some of the pro's ad con's. I recently spoke to a lady and the support group I have to go to to get funding for the surgery on the NHS and she informed me about the sleeve, and that the consultant I have been referred to does prefer people to have the sleeve, so hence doing research, I want to go to my 1st appointment with ...

Lost my third band and almost my life last July/August and have been band free since July and gaining weight and health since November. Can't control my weight gain so went to visit my doc on a visit back to Perth this week. He immediately booked me in for a sleeve next Tuesday, and then told me to go away and think about it.

Finally getting around to saying hi.

I had my surgery on Wed 24 Feb then went back into surgery on Friday 26 Feb because the swallow test showed that nothing was going past my Oesophagus. I knew there was a problem because I struggled with vomiting and feeling really ill. I came out of the 2nd surgery with a Nasogastric tube. Definately not fun but I was so grateful for it because the illness/vomiting was gone and I could keep fluids down. Dr Russell was great :)

Hi,

I'm Lieza, 22yr old from Perth.

I had the band put in April 08 and it was one disaster after the other. I had to have another surgery May 08 to fix the port because it had flipped. And the whole time I had the band in I lost 10kg and no more. I finally got sick of vomiting all the time and realized my partner was suffering along with me, so I made the decision to get it taken out.

My band was removed August 09 and I was never happier... until I put on weight. Now I weigh more than ...

Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum. I was banded in June 2008 and have had trouble with my band from about the 4 month mark onwards. I have lost 25kg, but most of this has been through my own determination and hard work rather than the band. I can't get to a good level of restriction, as anytime I get close it eventually turns into an overfill and I can't get any food or fluid in and I have to have all my fill removed. In October this happened and I experienced a lot of pain in my shoulder and stomach ...

I had my gastric sleeve 4 weeks ago, and have lost about 14kg since starting the optifast stage.

They did an ultrasound scan, and I had gall stones. I was admitted to hospital and had my gall bladder removed.

I am at home now and I had a look on google and found out it is common to get gall stones ...
