It tells you how many calories it burns doesnt it?? That will be a big help for me right now as I'm counting calories so I need to burn more than I eat to lose more weight. Unfortunately the plug I need to put the wii in is currently being occupied by the heater and for now the heater is winning so I will start tomorrow morning....lol..

Just dance is excellent. You really work up a sweat when you dance and play. At first I felt a bit unco but then once you get used to it you dont even realise you're exercising.

I wonder if the dvd stores are renting out zumba yet?? I cant imagine doing it anywhere but it in the privacy of my own home or else I would knock people out with all my bits jiggling around....lol...

Oh do it, do it Nat!!

I dont know exactly HOW much exercise it does, but I enjoy it and its somethig that im happy to spend half an hour on, even the kung fu one is fun! And it gets the heart beating so it MUST be doing some good!

But I read an earlier post about the just dance one - is that good? I was thinking of buying the zumba dvd's, but if thats also good then might go and grab it? Does it keep you active etc? Im just looking for fun stuff to exercise to. I have an awesome treadmill, but walking/running/jogging on that is no fun and half an hour drags and feels like an hour- at least! Even whislt doing it in front of the TV!

I have to say I love my wii fit - and fit plus!

We had to buy a new board as we used our other one so much in the 2 years that we had it I think we over used it hehehe! Not just me but hubby and the 8 year old.

So we went and got anew one and I love weighing in everyday, Im a little obsessed, but its just SO handy! I run/jog/walk on the treadmill whislt doing the running path, I enjoy doing that more than on the spot!! I also love the new obstacle course and the new ball throuhg the holl one,

My mii is very appy with me as I have only missed 2 days while I was in hosp, on the other hand the rest of the family havent been playing it and so he is pretty peeved at them :D

Hey...
Interesting to read the comments on here... I am nearly three weeks post op and I have started to use the wii fit, mainly 'cos of the rubbish weather so I can't walk. I do the walking exercises mostly... so far so good. I am hoping to slowly progress onto the 'harder' exercises as soon as I feel ready...

This site is really helpful btw... thank you ...

I was just reading over some of my old posts and came across this one which reminds me - its probably time to dust off the cobwebs of the old wii fit and give it a go. The wii fit plus i purchased way back then is still in the plastic - did someone say impulse shopper???

Is anyone else using it before or after surgery???

Nat

PostSubject: Re: Wii Fit Plus   10/02/10, 06:26 pm

I recently bought the Wii Fit Plus and Wii Just Dance. Haven't tried the Wii Fit Plus yet because I'm addicted to Just Dance - talk about getting a sweat up!!!

I'm thinking the Wii Fit Plus will be useful after surgery to monitor the amount of calories burnt and being that its low impact you could do it fairly soon after surgery. Did anyone else find it useful???

Also how accurate are the scales?? I will be getting rid of my scales at home because I know how obsessed I get but maybe these scales could be useful. Just so long as I do a workout whenever I hop on and don't just get on it to weigh I should be ok.

I'm glad to report that after the first Body Test, it reverted to allowing me to quit after the weigh in.

I got it last week but havent had a chance to use it yet. Mine only cost AUD$25 so I thought it was still not bad value.

Well that's burst my bubble RBC. I was looking forward to a heap of new things. Darn it.

I've grown so bored with the Wii and would really have liked some new step aerobics workouts. The new games sound good though. Don't know if I'll indulge or not now...might just keep up with the treadmill and my ab circle pro.

Thanks so much for doing the test run for us all.

Thanks for the review RBC.

I love my WiiFit. I use it to weigh myself too.

PostSubject: Wii Fit Plus   25/10/09, 12:45 pm

I know there are a number of users of the Wii Fit here, so now that I have a copy of Wii Fit Plus, here is my review.

The name is appropriate. This is the original Wii Fit game with some extras. It isn't a new Wii Fit game. The basic layout is exactly the same as Wii Fit and it will automatically load your existing Wii Fit profile.

Once in the game, its the same. You have the same animated Wii Fit board as before saying the same thing. In the Body Test however they have taken out the ability to stop the test after the weigh-in - something that might see me going back to the original, unless it is something that only happens the first time you use it.

You can now create profiles for pets and babies, although the range of appearances you can give them is very limited.

There are new tests in the Body Test. I have one today called the judgement test where you have to learn towards a balloon that has a number greater that 5 in it.

On the the workout section. The Fitpiggy still gives you the total time played, and the time played today. The 4 existing sections (Yoga, muscle workout, aerobics and balance games) are pretty much as before with the same workouts except there are a few more yoga and muscle workouts. There are no new games in the aerobics and balance games section.

There is however a new section with 15 new games. I've played the Segway game so far and its great fun.

They have also added a feature that tells you how much energy (in Kilocalories) that you have expended.

So basically for my NZ$45 I got 15 new games and the ability to weigh and save results for my cats. The rest is pretty much the same as the existing Wii Fit.
