Hi Pappy,

Thanks for your reply on 7th January. I just wanted to appologise for not responding. I found the info very useful. I got so caught up with trying to organise my kids, work and APRA pre surgery, that I forgot to write back and say thanks.

I ended up changing my surgery date to 15th Feb, and so far all is going well - although I haven't lost as much weight as I'd hoped ... yet! As for the APRA application, I dragged the chain that much (I couldn't believe how much paper work they wanted) that I had to pay by credit card and am hoping to get a refund thru APRA.

I hope you got your approval, and that everything went well with your op.

Regards
Megs

hey megs, you need to go and look at the rockdoctor for more info. how to access your super, you need a letter from your gp , also i got a letter from sleeve dr and they organised the quote from the sleep dr. but in the thread written by rock dr is all the info you will need.. i suggest that you will need to get moving it takes st least 10 working days for apra to approve , if at first they deny you. you are intitled to appeal, then a inderpendant person will apraise you. i have just been denied but i will appeal i am to be sleeved on the 3rd of feb, i might have to get a new sleeve date..... not happy jan

PostSubject: Surgical Estimate for APRA? How do I work it out???   07/01/10, 09:49 am

Hi everyone,

I'm booked in for a sleeve on 1st February. I have the APRA application form and it says that I have to provide at least 1 quote and or information about costs.

I have a quote from Dr Talbot (Sydney), but his quote says it doesn't cover anaesthetics or any other costs associated with my stay in hospital including accommodation, pathology, pharmacy etc.

How do I get a full estimate quote?

I can't afford to pay any out of pocket expenses whatsoever. How do I go about ensuring I get the total fee reimbursed by my super fund?

Will APRA/super fund pay out more than what is quoted if I underquote?

Thanks
Megs
